A trip to Garden Ridge has sparked my imagination for a Greek themed party for older children. I saw a lot of items at the store that could be used for the decor. I am still working on some activity ideas, but my first thoughts are to include some sort of Greek themed charades, pictionary, or trivia game, toga making, a photo op, make a "laurel leaf" wreath, the " olympics", or a cooking activity.

Hampton Roads residents, particularly those in Portsmouth, Western Branch, and Harbourview Areas should think about taking advantage of the Pokey Smokey at Portsmouth city park and hold a train themed party at the park. The city rents shelters to residents and non residents and the train rides are very well priced.

I found some small pastel dessert bowls on a super sale at my local grocery store. They're perfect for an ice cream social. They're were an easter item, but I am really seeing them for a crate your own sundae bar at an ice cream party! Can't wait to host an ice cream social.
